Hello and welcome to The Best Bees Company’s official blog.  Here, we will be talking about anything and everything you would want to know about making the most of your honey bee hive.

Since the summer is in full swing, and honey production is ramping up, we find it fitting to introduce you to our blog with a honey recipe.  We love honey as much as the next person, and we have developed a list of our favorite recipes that use honey.  This specific recipe is particularly suited to the gentle and delicate layers a light golden summer honey has to offer.

Lavender Honey Lemonade:

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup raw honey
3 cups water
1 tbs lavender buds
1 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups water (or more to taste)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.  Remove from heat and add the lavender.  Set aside and to steep for about 15-20 minutes.  Strain the lavender out.  Add the honey to the warm tea and stir to allow the honey to dissolve.  Add lemon juice and the remaining water to taste.  Stir well and refrigerate.  Feel free to garnish with fresh sprigs of lavender.  Drink and enjoy!

We hope that this recipe adds warm flavors to your summer while allowing you cool off.  Using your own honey and lavender will make this lemonade that much better.  This simple recipe is easy to make yet it will truly impress all your summer time guests with ingredients that come straight from your backyard.
