Regional Manager

The Regional Manager (RM) acts as the operations manager for a given set of regional operations centers across the nation. Typically, they are responsible for between 3 to 10 operations centers. The RM is the main connection that the local teams have to the greater Company.

Their primary responsibilities are setting the schedule, monitoring colony health, adjusting protocols to suit local variances, and ensuring staff is trained. Their goals are to keep beehives and beekeepers effectively cared for.

They report to the Director of Regional Operations and will have as many as 15-20 full and part-time employees reporting to them.

Ideally, candidates would be located in Boston where our HQ is located, though we’ll give equal consideration to candidates based in any of our service regions

  • Create the schedule for assigned regions & confirm with staff
  • Ensure that Beekeeper inspection notes are completed by beekeepers promptly
  • Create remediation plans for colonies needing more attention
  • Provide on-call support for beekeepers 
  • Create equipment loading manifests and route lists 
  • Ensuring inspection notes are complete and hive visit was successful/on-task  
  • Track inventories and communicate needed supplies to DRO
  • Organize beekeeping routes using Route 4 Me routing software
  • Modify and distribute training documents
  • Ensure staff are trained in accordance with our training program and standard protocols
  • Conduct routine check-ins with employees to ensure that they have the resources needed, understand protocols and expectations are aligned
  • Assist with new hire interviews
  • Keep up-to-date on best beekeeping practices 
  • Consult with sales team on prospective new accounts
  • Advises management of appropriate staffing needs given cyclical workloads
  • Keeps abreast of safety requirements and establishes safe working practices
  • Improves the abilities, skills, and knowledge of operations staff through appropriate instruction and training to grow the depth of team
  • Encourages team members to grow in their roles and assume greater responsibilities
  • Maintaining team esprit de corps and morale—addressing staffing concerns with staff or the partners
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., sales, marketing, and administrative staff.
  • Requires excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills with technical literacy to use a variety of computer platforms, manage spreadsheets, and create comprehensive reports.
  • Strong communication skills in person as well as in email or over the phone, comfortable with addressing problems as they arise.
  • Ability to switch gears quickly and adapt in our fast pace and unpredictable work environment
