Beekeepers inspect an open beehive and record findings into software system to capture data for scientific research

Join this webinar for an inside look at how the data our Best Bees beekeepers collects informs our beekeeping practices in real-time, while also fueling our long-term research initiatives.

Our CEO, Noah Wilson-Rich, Ph.D., founded The Best Bees Company in 2010 as a means of continuing his scientific research into honey bee immunology. Now, our national network of data-yielding beehives has empowered us to compile the largest database on bee health in the US.

Noah will speak on how data contributes to annual and seasonal learnings on bee health, advancing the field of apiology (the scientific study of honey bees) as a whole, while Nathan Reid, Best Bees' Head Beekeeper, will break down how data is used to guide our beekeeping practices month to month.

What You Will Learn

  • The evolution of data collection at Best Bees: the development of our proprietary software system, Bzzz.
  • The evolution of standardized beekeeping, the complications inherent in the practice, and its importance.
  • The methods of data monitoring and analysis; the difference between practical applied data and research data.
  • What we have learned from our data, both in relation to our beekeeping practices and our understanding of pollinator health.
