HUBweek, which ran from September 24th to October 1st, wrapped up earlier this month. This marks the second successful year of the festival, which is a celebration of innovation in Boston. The Best Bees Company is honored to be part of HUBweek since the beginning!

On Tuesday, September 27th, The Best Bees Company gave our own HUBweek guests a taste of what a honey bee’s cocktail may taste like.  We hosted, along with EVOO restaurant, our Liquid Gold event, a cocktail hour inspired by our HoneyDNA research.  We supplied EVOO restaurant chef and owner, Peter McCarthy, with honey and it’s DNA structure, and he created tasty h’orderves and sweet cocktails.  We enjoyed the evening with our guests, speaking with bee enthusiasts of all ages about the pollen genomes pictured artistically by Paige Mulhern.

This year we were able to attend some fantastic events, such as the Roxbury Innovation Showcase, where a collective of students and innovators engaged their guests in speaking about their businesses and contribution to Roxbury’s ideas.  Another introductory event to the creativity in Boston was the Demo Day at Hynes Convention Center.  It was a show of startups, both businesses and nonprofits, in many categories, including environmental focused and food production companies.  A different type of event itself, Discovering Dorchester was a great overview of the history of collaborations in Dorchester.  Led by Bill Walczak, the Ideas in Action team from Boston brought their guests to visit multiple sites, the highlight being Codman Academy and Codman Health Center, a merged school and health facility under the same roof.

Boston is definitely the Hub for innovation!  We were able to highlight some great moments on Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you to all who came to enjoy Liquid Gold, and supported HUBweek Boston! We can’t wait to see you again next year!
